Some Schools Dropping the Coalition App Last year over 150 colleges and universities utilized the Coalition app with some using it as their exclusive application. However, some member colleges are making changes for the 2019-20 application season and dropping the Coalition app altogether.

The Coalition App has been growing in popularity since its inception in September of 2015 and there are now 140 schools on the list. This centralized application system is a big time saver if you're applying to multiple Coalition Application schools. Similar to the Common Application, the Coalition app will have a main essay and member colleges will have the option to add additional, school-specific essay prompts. The new application is for a set of schools that is calling themselves the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success (and yes, the Oxford comma is included in their website). So far, it has over 90 schools that meet Coalition requirements for membership. The Coalition Application is a college application platform that is currently accepted by over 130 schools. While the application itself does not differ significantly from the better-known Common Application, the Coalition Application offers several extra pre-application features and tools.. Colleges that accept both the Coalition Application and a school specific application: Again, students should try to save time and energy. By choosing to complete the Coalition Application, they can use the same application for any of their other prospective schools that accept the Coalition App. Coalition Application. The Coalition Application is accepted by more than 140 member schools. It provides college tools and collaboration spaces for students to connect with teachers, parents, and/or counselors. Students have access to an online storage system, or “locker” to save videos, portfolios, essays, awards, and more. All your schools use the Coalition App and you prefer the Coalition App's interface and features over those of the Common App. If you want to get started on college applications early and are a fan of the locker feature, for example, the Coalition App will better serve your needs than the Common App will. Some schools will begin to use the Application Portal and accept the actual Coalition Application in the summer of 2016. The Coalition is clear that many schools are still deciding how and when they will use the full Application Portal.
